Six-spot burnet

After the morning walk with Louie on Weetwood Moor, and a trip to the tip, we spent a while cleaning the caravan after last week's festival.

We had planned to go to a little music festival in the afternoon at Low Newton, where some friends were playing. Unfortunately, the car park was full and all the spaces along the road were taken, so we gave up and went to High Newton for a walk on the beach instead! We walked back to the car park along the top of the dunes, and there were hundreds of these pretty little moths, mostly on the ragwort, enjoying the sunshine.
