Over the Moon!
I am jumping with joy as I have received an award in the International Garden Photographer of the Year Macro Art category. I was a finalist making it to the last 8. Looking through the stunning winners I feel honoured to be in such company, these images are inspirational and make me want to get my macro lens out again and start taking photos for next year’s competition.
You can see the entry here. It is called Dandelion Jellyfish.
I know you will all share in my excitement at this achievement. You may even hear my squealing wherever you are!
Doing a blip (almost) every day has really helped my photography and seeing all your blips really inspires me to get better and practise more. Plus teaching others to use their cameras has meant I have had to delve into photographic techniques more and have learned more about my own camera and the style I want to achieve in the process. I have found entering the IGPOTY competition for the past two years has also given me a goal and it is one of the competitions where you can get really helpful judges feedback. OK, I'm off out now to take some more pictures!
