Palace Street in Canterbury-this doorway is intriguing- there is an inscription above which reads-'A very old house, bulging out over the street...leaning forward, trying to see who was passing on the narrow pavement below'Charles Dickens 1849. This doorway is the result of the side shift which means the side wall is at an alarmingly jaunty angle..!! To be seen to be believed!
