The Friday Night Club.....

....met for the first time this evening. We assembled for a swift half in Bennets before viewing the excellent Summer. Engaging performance from Carlyle and the other Shaun's, and an excellent script.

Wingpig's touching tribute to Oliver Postgate reminded me of an interview I read a while back.....Postgate had been approached to sanction a spin-off production where Clangers would take on the Alien habit of ripping through the chests of John Hurt lookalikes in search of blue string pudding. Postgate was firm but gentle in reminding the wayward animator that Clangers are essentially peace loving creatures......much like the man himself.
