Intermittent Rain

Lovely day on the allotment despite the rain showers - I simply sat in my shed and had a cup of tea and snacks when they lasted a little too long! I managed to dig over another bed and replant the best of the strawberries and clear all the grass growing up round the chicken fence. The plot next to the chickens has been taken and the plot holder paid a man to strim the grass which was taller than me! I managed to take some photos of the teasels before he sliced a lot of them down. When he left I went and rescued the cut ones and they are now flowering nicely in a vase in my kitchen! Along with a lot of oregano that I removed from my bed whilst digging! 
I inspected the seed drills of Kohlrabi I'd sown last week and they have come up! Plus the lettuce I had transplanted were still intact and no rabbit or slug nibbles! I couldn't resist going back to the poppies adorned with raindrops, and checked the seedheads to see if any were ready for harvesting - but I'll have to wait a bit longer to take them home to dry!
