Stunning Sintra

Today we visited Sintra, a stunning town 25 miles from Lisbon set on the north slopes of the granite Serra, among wooded ravines & fresh water springs.

The town is absolutely enchanting. The Palacio Da Pena (in this picture) is an eclectic medley of architectural design - something out of a fairytale. It was a steep walk to get up there, but absolutely worth the c.1400ft climb!

Mr J & I were on a sightseeing timeline as our car was on a parking meter so we moved fast & managed to visit the Palacio Da Pena, the Castelo dos Morous (also 1400ft up) & the Quinta da Regaleria (my favourite). But I have to confess that my legs do now hurt!

Hopefully, we will sleep well tonight, but not too well however as we have an early flight back!
