The North Woods...

...Which are always referred to by Wisconsinites as "Up North"!  Most of the Northern part of the state looks like this--lots and lots of lakes and miles and miles of National Forests. We spent our summers here as I was growing up--my maternal grandparents and my paternal grandparents both had cottages--they were side- by- side on the same lake--as did our grandfather's sister and brother-in-law whose place was next to our grandpa's, so we had the run of the whole area! It was an idyllic spot & I always hated having to go home, and that hasn't changed in all the years! I'm still always so happy to be there, and hate to think of having to eventually go back home! :))
