SCOOP

My sweet peas are finally in flower and the scents are fabulous.
Sweet Peas always strike me as rather an old fashioned flower. Perfectly at home in a garden from the first half of the 20th century, so that is what my picture for flower Friday with a twist of 'game' is meant to show.
The flowers are surrounded by the constituent parts of the game Scoop, where the objective is to put together a newspaper to win.
The box says the game was made by the makers of Monopoly, although it hasn't lasted as long. The price was 12/6, or 62 1/2 pence. So that sets it pre 1971, from a few other clues I think it may date from 1953. Does anyone remember it, or know the rules?
