Zakynthos town...

Well, now I know the dawn chorus starts at 6.15!

We were awake with the birds this morning and walked across the salt flats to the bus stop in wonderfully cool temperatures. So quiet everywhere and definitely great to be up and about.

A good ride which took only 30 minutes. A very smart bus station too. The harbour front was almost deserted and we enjoyed our frappé as the town woke up.

Beautiful venetian colonnades offering shelter from the increasing heat and plenty to photograph and enjoy.

Four hours was plenty of time for our first visit. Home by lunchtime and for a siesta.

It will reach 41 degs tomorrow we're told. We're off to the mainland and Olympia by ferry so should get some sea breeze.
