Olympia....

Really difficult to give today justice to today's trip, certainly in any one photo and that taken on my phone for ease of posting.

Despite the crack of dawn start and the very high temperatures, the ferry ride to the mainland was smooth and the breeze very welcome. Once at the historic site, an excellent guide took us through the museum and round the ruins of the original Olympia.

My photo shows where the first Olympic flame was lit in,the temple of Hera, wife of Zeus, king of the gods. Much legend and story telling but much true history too.

Tomorrow, a trip to Kefalonia, a favourite island....
