Chalkhill blue

Uughhhhhh!!!
Everything I take a shot of at the moment seems to turn out rubbish, I am so disappointed! My camera seems totally incapable of dealing with exposure, and my new macro lens.....well don't start me..it just doesn't hold focus properly, and the results are really hit and miss with many just horrendous! I wouldn't mind if it was a cheap lens either but it is made by Canon and cost me £350 (maybe that is a cheap lens?).
As a result of all this hassle for the first time in 8 years I am getting bored with taking pictures! I know I need to 'suck it in'and carry on, especially as I want to at least complete 5 years of Blips if I can but the going at the moment is oh so hard!
Maybe the answer lies in taking another type of shot and not macro...sadly that doesn't inspire me much either!
I went to Kithurst hill today but as I arrived it started to rain, so my offering is a male Chalkhill blue Polyommatus coridon, waiting for the sun to come out again.
Confined to calcareous grassland in southern England (not the south west) the Chalkhill  blue has declined in some areas, but where it is found it can be really abundant with huge numbers of males flying just above the vegetation  looking for females.
I have also included a shot in my rapidly diminishing extras of some newly hatched shield bug eggs - so sweet!
