The incredible high places of the Pyrénées.
Yesterday's shot showed the desert-like territory of Aragón that lie beneath the mountains. But as you go up, the land becomes much more lush, the sun-baked tiles and clay walls give way to Alpine-esque stone buildings and lichen covered roofs. It's a dramatic change, and I really like the cooler atmosphere.
This photo, is even higher, above the treeline. It's glorious up there. The ridge that just begins on the left is essentially the Spanish-French border. On the Spanish side; a Mediterranean climate. On the French; an Atlantic one.
