A bitterly cold day

Many many thanks and appreciation to each and everyone who has commented on yesterday's journal entry.

Only a month short of the arrival of spring, our country has taken a plunge into extreme cold temperatures. Minus temperatures are being recorded.

Snow has fallen on many of the mountains and numerous roads and mountain passes have been closed for traffic.

The plight of the homeless and especially animals and farm animals become a heavy burden . . .

Just outside of the study is a large fig tree: soon it will be filled with new green growth (not to mention the figs!).
The ageing canna leaf is a reminder of a beautiful summer, now only a memory.

Come on, summer!
