The Odd Couple

This dynamic duo were completely oblivious to one another as they grazed in the back garden as dusk set in.

This also marks MonkeyWithAView's first entry of one of the Black Chicken Things, aka Moorhens, that share our garden with us. I have been waiting a while & have taken numerous hastily taken, semi-blurred shots of various members of the Moorhen brude, but they're nervi, speedy blighters & are wonderful at camera dodging! This Blip however was too good an opportunity not to Blip. Featured is one of the most recent lot of babies that have now nearly reached full size but have not yet quite grown they're jet black feathers or red/ yellow beak.

I've made it my mission to get some good shots of the BCT's, parents, kids & tiny winy fluffy babies when they next have them. I will make it so. And it will be good.
