Hidcote Blipmeet (Wednesday 20th July 2016)
On Wednesday I drove up to north Gloucestershire for a blipmeet at Hidcote Manor Gardens NT. We were to meet up at a café there but unknown to any of us beforehand there were two cafés in close proximity and I went to the wrong one. Nevertheless, I gradually met up with the other blippers in the various 'rooms' of Hidcote's splendid gardens during the morning where we were all busy with our cameras in the scorching heat. Present were Hildasrose, who had organised the event, with Rob, and in the very approximate order I found them JDO, JohnRH with Wendy, BlackTulip with JJ, Technophobe and LooseCanon, Chantler63 and, met for the first time, Tedwin, Redilady, BOM, MAB1943 with Doug, and Shutterup.
We had a picnic lunch before moving on to the equally impressive Kiftsgate Court Gardens, just a stone's throw away. I have spent the days since working through the pictures and gradually posting them online and there are links to them below.
My blip was taken around 1140 hr at Hidcote and the extra is from Kiftsgate and shows the famous Kiftsgate Rose which proliferates there, taken at 1434 hr.
The afternoon wound up at the Kiftsgate café by which time I was wilting from the heat, for a very welcome cold drink, and I drove off after 1600 hr, stopping for a Waitrose coffee in Cirencester on the way home.
In other news I saw a red kite near Bushton, Wiltshire on the way up.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Beverley - Where The Good Times Are (1966)
I remember buying this, the first single on Decca's new Deram label, the week it came out, but I traded it in at the Music & Video Exchange some years ago for about £80 and couldn't find it on CD to replace.
It was by Beverley Kutner, from Coventry, and the single featured Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin, Nicky Hopkins on piano and Andy White on drums. This was the B-side, the A-side being a Randy Newman song called Happy New Year. Beverley later married John Martyn and recorded two albums with him.
When I got home from the blipmeet I found in the post an Ace CD called Love Hit Me - Decca Beat Girls 1962-1970 with this song on it.
