Hot!

Even though we got out quite early for a walk today, several things conspired to make it a very short one. It was already warming up, Ozzie was sore from his romp in the surf yesterday and, although much better, I'm still supposed to be keeping my foot up...not easy on a walk....

Nothing for it but sit down, put our feet up and watch the penultimate stage of the Tour de France. The bright yellow sun belied the nail biting final descent in atrocious conditions. My money was on Vincenzo Niebali, the "Shark of Messina" for the stage win, but it was not to be. Chris Froome, after a bad fall in the rain yesterday, was nursed through the race today by his faithful Team Sky teammate, Geraint Thomas, who gave his own bike to Froome yesterday when he fell. He will ride into Paris tomorrow to win his third Tour de France.

The best moment was when a bystander grabbed another bystander who was in the path of the leaders and threw him bodily onto the verge. I love this race.
