And Now For Something Completely Different ...
.... not Monty Python though, sorry!
LARGE
Today's been a horrible one for blip hunting. Grey with just an occasional glimpse of sun, there'd been rain overnight, and that damned wind AGAIN. That wind seems to have become a regular feature of our weather for the last few months, there hardly seems to have been a day without it there to some degree. And it's a real curse for macro work. Lunchtime there were few insects brave enough to battle against that wind at County Hall, and what there were seemed skittish and usually settled only briefly. At one point there was a big brown hawker dragonfly whizzing around the bush I was near. I watched it ducking and diving about for several minutes in the hope it may decide to settle for a rest - no such luck. I gave up and returned to the office :((
This afternoon I was repairing a laptop in our workshop. On the bench next to where I was working there is a hefty rectangluar magnifying glass in a black frame, mounted on a goose-neck stand. Below and slightly behind it was a sheet of bright red circular labels. As I moved about I suddenly caught sight of them through the magnifying class, becoming distorted as my angle of view changed. My imagination went into overdrive. I thought "Hmmmm .... I wonder ...". So I grabbed a nearby CD which was of a bluish colour on the underside, and started to experiment. I realised that with a combination of the CD and the red labels I could create some interesting effects. So by way of a break from plants, insects etc, today's blip is a rather 'pop-art' one. As per the old saying - 'a change is as good as a rest'!
It's good to have a vivid imagination!
