Past Technology

Thursday is Todmorden's Outdoor Junk Secondhand Market - and today it was busy.  It's fascinating to have a wander around seeing just what heirlooms are on offer.  Where do they get them from - and who buys them?
I have no idea - but Mrs MD took all my cash off me before she would let me loose :-)
This stall was a cracker - On the left is a VIDOR 'MY LADY ANNE' PORTABLE RADIO - 1955 - £15 when new (equivalent to £275 today) and
on the right is an
EVER READY 'SKY BARONET 'PORTABLE RADIO, 1958 £14 (£230).  For this you got LW and MW and they would run on batteries or mains.
Also in the Blip is a box of Maxell MF2HD 3.5 inch Floppy disks - each disk capable of storing a staggering 1.44MB !!!
Who says past technology is dead? - It's alive and kicking in Todmorden.

My extra is a general overview of the market, with Todmorden's iconic railway viaduct running behind it.
It's well worth a visit :-)
