Cross Stone Church
Todmorden is but 5 miles up the Calder Valley from Hebden Bridge - yet is so different. Largely overshadowed by its more famous neighbour, it has many attractive areas, particularly 'on the tops'.
This is Cross Stone Church (where I was Confirmed by the Bishop of Pontefract - many years ago).
Built in 1833 - 1835. The church was closed for worship in 1978 after it was declared unsafe. It was reported to be slipping down the hillside..
It has since been converted to a private house.
