Heron
At Blackford Pond. I know how that heron feels sometimes.
The cygnets are now down to six. I don't know what's happening to them, having started out so well and still being nine when they were quite well grown. I wonder if they have each been injured and if so, how. Still, there were a number of tufted ducklings looking quite grown up, a couple of young mallard ducklings, a coot still sitting on the island nest and a little grebe on the nest I saw on my last visit.
