Hebe

From Jack Hobbs’ Wiri collection. It has a tiny white flower with a lavender centre. At this time of year the empty seed cases are on show. Hebes are native to New Zealand and a few other Southern Hemisphere places, but their various colours, shapes and sizes, along with their readiness to cross breed have made them popular in many countries. What sets them apart is the regular arrangement of their leaves.

Another dark, cold indoor day.
