Parched earth
Wales is often wet (everybody from outside looking in delights in telling you this, as if you didn't already know), and, as I now point out in reply to the predictable naysayers with equal joy, this plentiful supply of rainfall is precisely what makes Wales such a green and luscious land whilst also keeping your (English) water bills so low, so show some effing gratitude.
Anyway, this is the eighth consecutive day without rain, and such a vulnerable, miserable patch of dry, cracked earth saddens me. It has been wonderful to be able to don shorts and flip-flops these past few days and enjoy the glorious sunshine, but for nature's sake, I hope it pours down soon.
