Prize winning tart

Well, actually not but it would have been had I got to work before midday when all the other entries had been sampled and scored since 10am. Oh and there were no actual prizes. But I came second by just one point to some very tasty gooseberry tarts. So I was told, they were so tasty they had all gone by the time I got there.

So all in all a success, especially as I managed to transport it 160 miles in 30 degrees without any issue. And the really good news is that there was double the amount of pastry I needed so I am going to knock up another one this weekend.

And now I am in the hotel, "no crew today?" asked the checking in lady. No, all on my lonesome - I have been to the hotel gym for the first time ever and am now sitting in the "garden" with a pint, waiting for my chicken Caesar. I am going to watch the cycling out here on my iPad soon - is too gorgeous an evening to do anything other than sitting by the dual carriage way in the warm sun.
