Finally : Butterflies

I had not seen a lot of butterflies around before today. Today we had the usual cabbage whites (and I have been trying to keep them off the slowly developing cabbages in the garden), a very chewed on great spangled fritillary , and this really pretty , but also chewed on yellow swallowtail. My poor flower garden is so overgrown and it is too dry to try to fix it , but the butterflies seemed quite happy with it. In spite of the encroaching grass and thistle and other assorted weeds, the coneflowers , ladies mantle and day lilies seem quite happy. All of which makes the butterflies happy, and if the butterflies are happy  I am happy:))
