Lindisfarne Castle

An amazing day travelling up the A1 to Holy Island. Many of our party walked the traditional pilgrims path across the water( up to our thighs in parts) as the tide crept up. After a service in St Mary's church we took a boat around the Farne Islands with many amazing bird sightings. Puffins.razorbills, guillemot, shag, cormorants, arctic terns, eider ducks plus seals.
