Water Lily Close-Up

Today has been a grey and generally uninspiring day photographically. Having blipped the muddy water lily pool yesterday I could not resist doing a close-up of the water lily blooms  as we all know how famous these flowers became during the impressionist period. I just love their delicate tones moving from really saturated colour in the centre of the bloom to a very gentle pink tone at the edges.

I've a feeling that I reached my virtual three year blip point on Blipfoto though I have in fact been contributing for three and two third years. After a two year unbroken spell I decided to cut back on my commitment to maybe two or three times a week as I thought I was becoming too repetitive. However, that experiment did not work out very well as I quickly dropped to one maybe no entries a week. At the beginning of this year I decided to start blipping on a daily basis again and not to worry about repetitive themes as the sheer practice of the daily blip leads to the occasional really inspired entry and contributes greatly to my photographic skills. Now I have reached 1097 blips which is around the three year mark dependent on how you treat leap years. I hope I can still maintain my commitment and am very grateful for all your comments.
