Water Lilies

I always think of this as the 'muddy pond' as it is usually a thick black muddy colour and when we used to take our neighbour's labrador, Bella on our morning walk with our own dogs, she always used to make a beeline for it and come out looking like nothing on earth. Still as she loves water it was easy to let her go into the river on the way back to clean herself up. The pool has a wooden pedestrian bridge over it and is in deep shade on the edge of the wood in John Muir Country Park . I've noticed a few lily pads in it before but in the ten years we have been here I can't recall there being lily flowers so luckily I had my camera with me to capture this revelation.
