A lotta Terracotta

We headed out early this morning to beat the crowds visiting the Terracotta Army and it was well worth it because we had plenty space to wander around and see into the pits that have been (and are still being) excavated. The warriors are fantastic, even though I'd seen plenty about them on the telly.
It wasn't easy getting decent pictures of the horses but I quite like this one so thought I'd share it. No sign of their chariot I'm afraid.

We'd taken the 'express' bus to get there, and managed OK with only one bit of frazzle from me at the bus station!, but the bus back tootled it's way through Xi'an's suburbs and that was pretty neat getting to see more of the city. And we headed back to the Muslim market for dinner; a Xi'an specialty of Bread in Mutton Soup with pickled garlic on the side. You work up a fair hunger crumbling a flatbread into your soup bowl before passing it into the kitchen to get filled with soup. But it tasted great. I'm loving real Chinese food!
