Memories of home
Much of today was spent packing and getting odd jobs done before I set off for the Alps. But with all the IttHs at home and a perfect blue sky we had to make time for a wander up onto the Scar.
I never tire of the changing views from these fells and today was no different - I took dozens of shots in every direction knowing that I won't see them again for a few months - but this view to the East was the one I returned to.
Whilst looking South I could see the wood where we live and make out Orton's white tower, but when I'm away from here it's the distant solitary larch, the glacial steps of the limestone and the shadow dappled Howgills that I picture as home, so this is the picture I've recorded today for blip.
Of course I seldom get to see it under such a fabulous blue sky - this is Cumbria after all!
