Only rain
Daughter #2 and our son-in-law arrived at Edinburgh Airport this morning after a short flight from London. Far cheaper than the train (how ridiculous is that!) and far, far less hassle than driving, they arrived smiling as we met them off the plane – see extra.
A late, but wonderful, breakfast at Valvona & Crolla and then, as it started to rain, we gave up on the idea of wandering round the city, and drove along the coast towards North Berwick. We (mostly) dodged showers, but views were in short supply. Here is Bass Rock, just off the coast of North Berwick, covered with a huge colony of Gannets, although you will have to take my word for that.
We returned to Edinburgh and are now in the luxury of the Malmaison in Leith. Out for a meal tonight and hoping for better weather tomorrow.
But it's only rain - we can cope with that. How does one cope with a huge tragedy like Nice.
