Birthday Twinkle

This is my lovely friend Vernee. Today is her birthday and as she is a prolific lurker you can wish her a happy birthday too. I wished her one over a very splendid lunch at The Shed with a couple other friends (another lurker and a lurker/ex-blipper). Same place we did this last year so it seems probable there may be a similar blip this time next year. The restaurant is British tapas and this was a bone marrow dish that somehow seemed to be presented like a birthday cake. Just imagine a candle.

The Twinkle is the cocktail....champagne, elderflower and lemon juice.

The morning saw a long dog walk and a badly timed increase in work just as things should probably be winding down. There will be some weaving to be done over the next few weeks but they are interesting projects and it is better for my brain and my wallet than being too quiet.

After the busy day yesterday J didn't feel great when he woke up but after a very quiet morning he did rally a little this afternoon. Very encouraging.

Anna meanwhile is on her end of term knees...only 4 more days and she can kick loose.

Oh and I nearly forgot I have registered Albi (and me!!) for a course of obedience classes starting in September. I'm really rather looking forward to it so I hope it won't be a total disaster.
