Reflections Through a Glass Darkly
For the first part of the day, we exchanged moors and dales for Tarmac as our 'chauffeur', the Hon.Bruce and his Lady drove us to Pudsey on the outskirts of Bradford, there for the men folk to peruse the contents of an antique gun shop ( there is absolutely no point in your wondering why) and for us womenfolk to rifle through trays and trays of buttons and cut price haberdashery- such is the division of interest between the sexes.
After the obligatory late coffee stop, it was another 22 miles south to an afternoon of culture at the Yorkshire Sculpture park, walking for 2 hours through woodland paths and grassy slopes skirting huge scupltures by names like Henry Moore, Anthony Gormley, David Nash and Barbara Hepworth amongst others.
There is a valedictory dinner tonight before we travel home tomorrow. It has been a wonderful three days with our friends.-thank you Bruce and Carole for your company.
