Roses round the door

I stopped to photograph this wonderful display of roses, spilling over the fence.

The owner "kidnapped" me, insisting that I came in to admire the whole garden, conjured up by his wife.

The owners then gave me a tour of the most extraordinary garden.


The display of sweet peas, Sweet William and a host of flowers was overwhelming.

She grows bananas, apples, peaches, almonds, loquats, kumquats, beans, marrows, courgettes, various Chinese vegetables, figs, and pots of young avocados, mangoes, and by now I have lost count.
