Hypericum
This is just one of many flowers on the hypericum bush (or small shrub, whatever you want to call it!). I think this may be "Hidcote" but I don't remember what was on the label several years ago. It needs severe pruning in the spring or it can grow to a height of several feet, which is not what I want!. This plant grows wild as H. perforatum, commonly known as St John's Wort, and infusions of the flowers have been used as a treatment for depression in folk medicine. It can, however, produce unwanted side effects.
