Magic

The last gig of this little spasm being in London, we travelled in two cars due to the parting of the ways. We set off together, but lost sight of each other, and as D and I headed along the M4 we heard that it had been closed between two junctions ahead of us due to a bad accident. Using the satnav facility that is fortunately in my head, I came off at an earlier junction and detoured up via Oxford - we had wanted to come in to London on the M40 anyway. As it was we arrived in Camden only a few minutes late, coinciding with anxious messages from the other party who had been severely delayed. Sod's law dictated that this would be the first gig with a PA, a sound engineer and a sound check. We managed the latter by doing it in stages - the poor engineer didn't hear us playing all at once until the gig itself.

Another excellent evening (well, dunno what it sounded like really, but I enjoyed playing and the audience seemed to like it!), with the by now standard allocation of old friends whom we haven't seen for...a number of years.

After packing up and spending some minutes trying to re-distribute stuff into the correct vehicles, I  & K headed back to Bristol whilst DaveH  kindly drove a wilting Badger north out of London as far as the motel at the Newport Pagnell services. Aah, the glamour.

Oh, this was the only photo in my camera for today - when diverting through the wilds of Swindon I was very happy to find that we were coming up to the Magic Roundabout. Hadn't been round it for years, so I asked Mr H to take a snap out of the window while we were queuing to enter its dark heart.
