Best Laid Plans...

Sadly, annoyingly our whale watching trip was cancelled 1/2 hr before we were due to leave :-(

So... we had a choice, mope for the rest of the day of make a new plan!!

We made a new plan!! :-)

We decided to to drive to Fionnphort and take the ferry across to Iona!

My blip tonight is of the beautiful cloisters at Iona Abbey.  Each archway column had a carving at the top from nature.  The ones on this side were all flowers on others there were animals, another birds, i can't remember what was on fourth side but each corner had a face carving. - see extra - because of weathering this guy looked as though he had ginger hair!! :-)

My other extras are the stunning Iona Marble alter and the last is a modern sculpture of Saint Columba that stands in the church.

As I said, not the blips I had planned for tonight but we had a lovely day anyway!!
