Bristolwood and Beyond

Its Own Little Kingdom.....

I just love Queen Anne's Lace. It is so pretty alongside the roads this time of the year. I especially enjoy it mixed with the purply-blue Wild Chicory growing with it. On some of the secondary roads where the town doesn't mow next to the roads, I think this is the most beautiful sight....

Queen Anne's Lace is like a tiny world all its own. There is so much that makes up one of the large heads we see growing.....so many tiny white flowers on stems and the "crowning" purple flower in the center! And, I don't think I have ever seen a Queen Anne's Lace that didn't have tiny insects working away in it as well; it truly does seem to be a tiny kingdom unto itself!
