Life In Wales

Coucou, C'est Bobbie!

We arrived in Fontevraud L'Abbeye this afternoon and were met at the house by Lucy the owner.  She'd made us some scones and there were the usual essentials - bread, butter, water, milk, jam, tea and coffee, as well as a bottle of fizz in the fridge.  Not only that, she'd left some dog biscuits for the boys and had put them a bowl of water out ready.

The house is beautiful, it's like being in a small castle, and although Lucy isn't sure how old it is, there's been a property on this site since the 11th century.  It's got very solid stone walls and is furnished in keeping with it's style.

The bedroom doors are very old too, and the one to the main bedroom has this peep hole near the bottom, it's obviously been turned upside down as I guess it was one of those lookout's with the iron grill in it's time.  Anyway, we were unpacking and this little face appeared which was so cute!

We didn't do much tonight - we went to the supermarket to stock up, I cooked steak for dinner and then we got in the jacuzzi which is in the garden.  We stayed in there for quite some time, with the bottle of fizz and watched some bats flying round the garden.  The boys were very interested in the hot tub and there are some steps up to it, so their little faces kept appearing and at one point Bobbie tried to jump in!

The internet isn't very good here and I've struggled uploading my photos, so I hope I can at least manage to blip one a day, and apologies if I don't get chance to comment.
