Say what you mean!
I nipped into a charity shop to buy a scarf - £1.95. I handed the woman a Twenty pound note.
"Oh I can't change that"
I looked in my wallet.
"I'll have to leave it then. Bye."
"Hang on. Let me have a look."
She held her hand out for the note.
"Why do you need that?"
"I can't open the till without the money."
That puzzled me. She opened the till to reveal a stack of tenners and fivers.
"So! You could change it!"
As if to make everything clear she explained, "We have to leave a minimum amount in the till overnight."
I may have been wrong but it was at that point that I decided she was a silly old bat with an aversion to twenty pound notes so I just took my change and left with the scarf.
I saw a fellow blipper's Moo mini cards the other evening and decided that I needed some: 100 cards, each with a different blip on it. They are more interesting as a collection but still have a charm individually. Moo have their marketing off to a tee - they certainly hooked me in.
