Bedazzled

My Dear Fellow,

The title of this email does not relate to the Pete 'n' Dud film, which is a shame as I'm in the mood for leaping nuns, blowing raspberries and shrieking "Julie Andrews!" 

I sound bonkers. Look, if you've seen the film it makes total sense.

The title refers to this ship, which has been bedazzled to make it hard to spot if one is looking at it from a U-Boat.

The Dazzle Ship is parked in Leith docks and is part of the Edinburgh Art Festival. That is, unless Jürgen Prochnow comes along and sinks it.

From my distinctly unwarlike and impractical point of view, I just think it is sort of pretty. I wish we had "Dazzle Buses" and "Dazzle Office Buildings" and "Dazzle Aeroplanes".

Maybe not that last one. I never think these things through.
