Deep inside

Blaenau Ffestiniog claims to be the wettest place in Wales, though this seems to be based on the number of days that it rains rather than the actual amount of rain.

Today was one of those days that it rained - the local hills all disappeared in the cloud.

It was therefore a good day to go down the newly re-opened deep mine at Llechwedd Slate mine. Following flooding that filled the accessible workings and destroyed the previous exhibits and show, the entire display was updated and reworked. Towards the end you come in to this huge cavern that was created in order to put a roof on many buildings, where you get a light show and AV projected on to the walls.
