Jetty Work

Day Three of our sailing and we have had dry and bright weather with a good wind. This morning we sailed to the southern end of Lake Windermere, then we took it in turns to approach a jetty and pick up a mooring. It was quite tricky in the stiff wind plus an audience of tourists and about 50 school children doing an open water swim! Later we practiced reefing the sails, sail trim, balance and wind awareness. We finished off with a sail up to Waterhead at the very southern end of the lake, then into the southern lake. We now have a sunny evening and tea cooking on the hob.

These two Victorian boat houses are in the marina where we are moored. Apparently they are all original and were recently used to film scenes in a horror movie. We are told there was no need for any special effects, just some spot lights!
