A week of wells

This was another trip to Mzimba to install 15 pumps more and make provision for the completion of 12 new ones which are just being dug.

This pump is at the village of Zayira in the Kamuteteka.
The well depth is 10.87 meters with 1.7 meters of water.
They were using an old hole in the ground where you wouldn't attempt to stick your foot, and most certainly you wouldn't attempt to drink it.
This new pump is just 290 meters from the furthest household and serves over 190 villagers. They have a preschool and primary school about 40 minutes away and the secondary school is about 90 minutes to walk.
