Superb Cyanea
We’re having something of a rarity round here, a restful Sunday. Why should sitting on the sofa all morning reading the newspaper and catching a bit of Wimbledon make me feel guilty? Get thee behind me, Protestant work ethic!
I laid out breakfast for our guests, with fresh rolls from the bakery, but when no-one had appeared by 11 a.m., concluded that they must have gone out early and put it all away. However, we heard sounds of movement some time after midday and they eventually emerged at around 1:45, which we all thought was hilarious. We chatted about their evening and other things for a while, then they set off for a barbecue with new friends they met last night – an impressively smooth transition into the Carioca spirit!
Today our Cyanea produced its first purple flower, which has a lovely scent to add to its beauty. Such a special plant, but I had a bit of trouble to find its name. Google finally told me that it’s a Tillandsia, native to Ecuador.
And hooray! I’ve finally caught up with my blips – but not yet with other people’s. Really looking forward to doing that asap.
