Our lovely friends (and neighbours) the Bickerstaffs threw an amazing party to celebrate their 50th birthdays. Despite a lot of trepidation, the weather was dry and not too cold. They had hired a huge marquee with heaters and there were lots of fire pits to gather round when it got chilly later.Steak and Honour burgers brought their van and fed everybody and the guests were entertained by 3 brilliant bands.
The only low point of the evening was the Accelerants set being cut short by some dull party pooper from up the road coming round to complain about the noise. How sad to be in your early 40's and want to spoil other people's fun just because it's putting you off the important business of navel-gazing or cocoa drinking. They do say keep your enemies close so I shall be sending those lovely people an invite to Hendstock immediately.
The extra is Ninja's husband, Martin, 'enjoying' the fruits of the Absinthe tree.
