Our neighborhood here at the lake has a 4th of July parade each year and it only goes around the block, but everyone who wants to be in the parade decorates their bikes, scooters, golf carts, automobiles, and themselves! 
We also decorate our lawns and houses and even spectators sometimes wear some outfit or accessory.  My husband, three daughters and one son in law are in the main photo with their "Uncle Sam" glasses, four of the grandchildren decorated the scooters and were in the parade. 
The last photo is "Uncle Rory", whose family lives a few doors down, with his brothers and their children in his car that he cut the top off, painted it with stars and stripes and loves driving it the parade and around town when it isn't raining!  Fourth of July is a big holiday here in the states and this year it's on Monday, so it really is a 3 day event.
