The Riding of The Scottish Parliament

I was priviledged to be invited to attend the State opening by Her Majesty of the 5th Session of the Scottish Parliament. A moving blend of balanced, thoughtful and well crafted speeches, beautiful music with some modern tasteful twists on old themes, evocative poetry - and pageantry (see extra).

If the opening was an occasion the Riding down the Royal Mile was fun and relaxed. The rain which had pelted down earlier had stopped, the sun shone and the participants and crowd had a great time.

Lots of blip moments, including one with 4 previous Presiding Officers. So today's choice has been very hard.
