Bloomin' Lovely!

We are living in an alternative planet up here in Orkney, where the sun shines into the bedroom at 5 am and continues until bedtime, and where time is measured by the sailings of the ferry to Scrabster.

Today was no different as I made a solo journey to St Margaret's Hope to meet up with Poppy for the morning. There was a beach walk before coffee and cake at her picture postcard cottage in a picture postcard village nearby.
The best that the south of France might offer would not compare with her view of the sea over a garden filled with a riot of colour not forgetting the back garden choc a bloc with every vegetable imaginable.

If there was a fly in the ointment today it was the presence in Kirkwall of 3,100 tourists off the cruise liner Azura delaying all the buses and swamping the streets. It felt like a home from home at festival time.

Homeward bound tomorrow with much sadness.

My extras are of a standing stone at St Peter'sPool, erected to commemmorate the millenium and carved by a local sculptor.
