Development

This is a site which has light industrial on 2 side and now has planning permission for some 70 houses. It is a "brown field" site, see the extra of how it was a year or so ago, which is good rather then being green fields. It is the site of a former tannery and thus was contaminated.  A lot of work has been done to "clean" it. 
However this area is prone to flooding and as the photo shows what has happened is that ground level has been raised by building it up. So what has been achieved.....the flooding problem has been moved to the immediate surrounding area. It will be interesting to see what happens in the winter. 
I pity the purchasers who will try to garden.......
