Leaving Wales
Backblip 8
After a week of mainly lovely weather (with the odd shower), the heavens opened as we left Wales and entered England. The photo shows the clouds over the new Severn Bridge and they only got worse as we headed south.
The driving conditions in Hampshire were among the worst we have ever encountered, with thunder and lightning, flash floods and visibility down to a few yards even with the windscreen wipers at their top speed! A very scary experience.
However, we arrived in one piece at our lovely B & B and after settling in we visited MIL and were pleased to see her looking reasonably well for her age (92 years). Unfortunately, her sight has deteriorated further since we last visited and she finds life very frustrating at times. Fortunately, although physically frail, she has lost none of her marbles and still has a great sense of humour which helps her through.
